Ancient Core is an unknown magical object that the Kanavan tried to obtain during the war with Serdin.
Not much is known of about what the Ancient Core does and is used for. During the war, Queen Kanavan (who was possessed by Kaza'aze at the time being) ordered Ronan to retrieve it "whatever the cost may be".
