After the Chase obtain the fragment from Seth's Pyramid, Barakhufu ambushes them, steals their fragments and recombines all three back into the original crown, and uses it to transform into [[Immortal Barakhufu]], attaining god-like power. In the ensuing battle, Barakhufu is defeated despite his claims of immortality and the Crown of Sands is destroyed along with him.
In [[Goblin Work Site]], a goblin named [[Barakhufu]] claimed to have knowledge of the artifact, yet [[Elesis]] believed it was a hoax. When Barakhufu returns after the Chase leaves, he has a sinister smile on his face, suggesting he is actually using them to obtain the Crown of Sands for himself.<br />

The said fragment was supposedly a treasure the Kungji Kungji tribe had which was passed onto them for generations, and also kept them alive. When the Chase examined this fragment, it shows to be giving off immensive power, and perhaps Barakhufu was being truthful about its story.
