For the honor of the Ruby Knights!

— Elscud Sieghart

Elscud Sieghart was the leader of the Kanavan Trackers and Elesis' father.

Background[]

Elscud c

Around 600 years since the 35th successor of the Sieghart family, Elscud Sieghart was born in the Kanavan Kingdom in Bermesiah. During a period of turmoil, Elscud soon became the leader of the Ruby Knights, which had been in a state of decline after the departure of Ercnard Sieghart, and gathered the descendants and comrades of the scattered Ruby Knights. He fought in search of only the fiercest battlefields and against the most ferocious monsters, and desperately rebuilt the Ruby Knights.[1]

When the Kingdom War broke out at the behest of Kaze'aze and the order to fight was issued, Elscud refused to participate and waited in the base because he had doubts about the motives for the war.[1] Following the conflict, Queen Kanavan, who was temporarily released from enchantment, sent a letter to Elscud explaining the current situation and requesting his aid in defeating the evil witch. Upon receipt of the letter, Elscud gathered his troops and launched an expedition to locate Kaze'aze. Acting upon information that one of Kaze'aze's minions was nearby, he entered Gorgos' Dungeon and fought against Red Gorgos himself. During the battle, a dimensional rift formed and Elscud disappeared through the crack between dimensions. Sensing traces of Ashtaroth's familiar evil energy, Sieghart made his way to Gorgos' Dungeon and arrived in time to see Elscud disappearing into the dimensional rift. Unable to save him, Sieghart defeated Red Gorgos and vanished.

Through the Dimensional Chasm was Elscud who no longer aged as he wandered across Time and Space. He eventually understood his purpose and set out willingly to realize it.[1]

Story[]

Ruins of the Silver Knights[]

Elesis thought that Jin was about as strong as her father, whom she was alluding to, albeit not by name, and that she still had a long way to go.

Kaze'aze's Castle[]

Kaze'aze after her defeat claimed that Elscud was pulled into a dimension rip, and right then, was most likely screaming in the abyss. Kaze'aze was also intrigued after learning the knight's name, suggesting he may have put up a fight before he disappeared in the rip. According to Lire's elders, people sent in the rip sometimes return to their original dimensions.

The Wyrm's Maw[]

Sieghart revealed that he briefly encountered Elscud just before the knight got sucked into a dimension rip and was going to fight alongside him. They came upon Zero shortly after and were taken aback when he performed a move that was very reminiscent of the Sieghart family skill, leading Elesis to think that the Wanderer must have known her father.

Thunder Hammer[]

Elesis interrupted Zero, who was chasing after Duel in Thunder Hammer, by questioning how he knew about her father's sword skills before then using the same move to strike him. The vagabond eventually realized that the girl did resemble a red-headed swordsman he used to know, but Grandark had demanded that they continue their pursuit.

Wizard's Labyrinth[]

Elesis ran into Zero once again and asked him how he knew the Sieghart family skill and if he knew Elscud Sieghart too. Zero responded that none of it was any of her business before sprinting off.

Episode &[]

In the wake of the events in the Tower of Disappearance, Elscud revealed himself for the first time since the five-year war, with Elesis in utter shock that her father had become an ally to Kaze'aze all along. The anguished warrior then began to fight them on her own.

Years after the incident, Elesis told the Grand Chase that she and her father did their best to mitigate the damage done to Aernas and it was time to advance into their territory.

In the sequel[]

Epilogue 1.7: Fire and Ice[]

When the Siege of Teroka ended, Decanee asked Elscud if he truly wanted to carry out their plan. He questioned whether she was getting scared. Despite the demon's warning that everyone, including his daughter, may just disappear, the red knight was adamant about stopping Heitaros.

Act 8.9: Red Knight[]

In the Temple of Time, Decanee advised that they rest once they were at Kounat and mentioned that the Aernas Hammer could disperse the magic power once exposed though Elscud said that he already knew as much.

After returning from the Time Gap, Ronan was still in shock to see Elscud following Kaze'aze. However, Arme asked everyone not to make rash judgments just yet after what Elesis had told her about seeing him in the Tower of Disappearance.

Act 10.3: Flaune's Garden[]

Elscud uttered his daughter's name as he watched her comrades fight the temple apostles, wondering whether or not in the end everything would turn out as prophesized.

Act 10.9: Corrupted Priests[]

As Pino confirmed that the person she was with had to be the famous Elscud, Decanee stated that the boy would have already pulled his sword had the red knight not been present. He claimed he had a lesser chance of prevailing against both of them therefore he left.

Elscud noted that Pino was a strong one, but the demon reassured him that they would soon acquire an even greater power.

Epilogue 2.3: Secret Garden[]

When Decanee concluded that they would have to deal with the Grand Chase themselves, Elscud questioned if there was truly a need for that, citing Pino's prior statement that he would only fight if he was convinced enough that he would win. Instead, the red knight suggested to stall until they had finished their preparations, doubting that they would win if they engaged in combat. The demon, who was pleased to hear him speak so much for the first time, essentially agreed with everything Elscud had said but insinuated that it must be because he may stab her in the back if she fought his daughter's friends, which he dismissed as an excessive joke. Regardless, Decanee reminded the red knight that his role was to stop Kanavan in Kounat and that forcing him to fight them would be cruel.

Epilogue 2.4: Collapsing Bridge[]

The Grand Chase were confused when they saw another version of themselves up ahead in the Temple of Time confronting Decanee, but Lass recognized that it was the same event when they had previously seen Elscud, thus they realized they had gone to the future prior.

Epilogue 2.5: The Last Avatar of God[]

Following Decanee's cryptic statement to the Grand Chase before she left for Kounat, Elscud warned them to stop following or he would have to use his sword the next time.

Act 13.9: The 3, Reunited Again[]

Elscud awaited the arrival of the Grand Chase who had been previously told by Grandiel that they needed to see someone, who turned out to be the red knight himself. He stated that he would do what he must and asked them not to get involved any further. When Grandiel refused, Elscud threatened them not to set foot in Kounat again.

Act013004

Elscud thought the Grand Chase did well against him, but believed it would not be enough to beat Baldinar or Decanee. Kyle tried to use Critical X, but the red knight countered him, telling the kid it was not how to execute the skill. As Elscud struck back, Elesis swooped just in time to swing his sword away from Kyle. He stepped back, saddened that this was his daughter's answer to him, and left.

Epilogue 3.3: King Fallen by Demonic Energy[]

Elscud intervened with Decanee before Kanavan could do any harm to Baldinar. Seeing Elesis, who was disappointed that he was still pressing on, the red knight said that she had chosen her path and he had chosen his. Elscud acknowledged Kanavan's claim that he knew he could not beat her but he could buy some time for Baldinar.

Epilogue 3.4: Baldinar's Creation[]

Elscud observed how Kanavan was still able to land a fatal blow to Baldinar even though she had lost control of her right arm. When it became perilous for them to stay, a frantic Decanee urged the red knight that they must go to the Aernas Hammer immediately.

Epilogue 3.5: Chief Researcher Fermat[]

After Fermat also failed to buy them more time, Elscud clutched his sword as the two braced themselves to guard Baldinar and the Aernas Hammer from the heroes.

Epilogue 3.6: The World's End[]

In the flashback continuing off from when Grandiel locked himself and Ashtaroth in the Wizard's Labyrinth, Elscud appeared before the elf, claiming he had followed Heitaros' minions and thought he might be too late. He introduced himself and explained how the Dimensional Chasm could be used to go to any dimension, including the magic tower Grandiel had created. The two discussed how his minions had absorbed the False Creator's power and were able to give form to a mere thought. The thought of Heitaros resurrecting concerned the red knight but Grandiel reassured him that the soul of Baldinar was not in its complete state. The missing soul fragment was said to be around the Kounat Ruins, but the elf wished to destroy it himself, denying Elscud's offer to do so. Lastly, Grandiel told him his story and explained how the red knight had to travel back in time. He was instructed to first stay with the demon known as Decanee and, in the event that they failed in their mission, eliminate Baldinar.

Elscud learned that doing so would overload the Aernas Hammer and set off the Great Explosion of Kounat, causing him and everyone else in the area to lose their lives in an instant. He accepted Grandiel's request on the condition that he do not bring Elesis and the others to this. The elf argued he would not accomplish it on his own and that his daughter was not as weak as he thought. Ultimately, they agreed to let Elesis decide whether or not to come, and the red knight entrusted him with his life.

Back to the present, Elscud had heard Grandiel call his name as a sign but was still conflicted about the task at hand. When Decanee launched her finishing attack toward Elesis, however, he instead jumped in the way of the attack and took the hit for his daughter. As he bled to death, the red knight apologized to Grandiel for not being able to fulfill his wish. Elscud also asked Elesis for forgiveness and told her she must live on.

Raid005015

Epilogue 5.7: Contract Terminated[]

From the walls of the Gateway Base sat Elscud as he watched the Underworld Train fall from the sky and crash into the Wilderness.

Act 20.9: Enlisting in the Army[]

Changhae summoned the Gate Knight after being threatened by the Grand Chase, and to their surprise, it turned out to be Elscud. Despite their best efforts, Ronan and Rufus struggled to fight him off but managed to hold out long enough for Elesis to step in. Elscud withdrew after the cowardly duke gave the order to flee. Elesis tried to call for her father, but she was only met with a blank stare when he left.

Ronan asked how the Haros tribe knew of Elscud. Russell explained that the Gate Knight was a soul soldier who had guarded the base for a millennium and that it was because of him that the gate was difficult to pass. Lire was taken aback given that they had just seen Elscud in Kounat not too long ago. Arme wondered what could have transpired for the Underworld to punish him that much. Russell only heard that the soul knight was a criminal who reportedly twisted the fate of a world and was sentenced to a total of 10,000 years. Elesis was furious at hearing this, questioning how her father saving Aernas from destruction was deemed a sin by the laws of the Underworld.

Act 21.1: Get Up Haros![]

On the way to Gateway Base, Changhae muttered how he wished he had more soldiers like the Gate Knight and berated his forces for being weak. As they retreated from the Haros Justice Army who had stormed the walls, Elscud asked him how far would they go with the duke deciding to return to the Underworld City.

Act 22.1: Infiltrate! Underworld City[]

Sieghart requested Elesis to remain at the Gateway Base, but she knew he was just keeping her from running into Elscud, admitting that she displayed weakness. Elesis agreed to stay behind, believing that she would undoubtedly be persuaded once she met her father.

Epilogue 6.1: Swaying Ambition[]

As Marcus threatened to hurt the duke for what he had said and done during their bickering, Changhae immediately ordered the Gate Knight to protect him, but Elesis demanded that he stop, saying that Elscud was not his slave. She pleaded for Queen Hwarin to look into whether all souls working for the Underworld had gone through a proper trial, stating that her father was a noble knight who dedicated his life to helping others.

Epilogue 6.7: Crazy Envoy[]

Elesis demanded that Changhae confess the whereabouts of her father. The master claimed to not know, however, he recalled the Gate Knight to have disappeared along with all the soul slaves when the Tower of Memories collapsed.

Elscud, who had been brought along by Decanee, noted how chirpy she was after Heitaros' plan failed. She added that it would have been better if the Ancient Demons had generated more chaos. The demon realized Elscud did not seem to agree and remarked how foolish men like him and Duel have a connection. Decanee then told the soul knight to obey her without question. Elscud inquired where they were going with the demon teasing him a little before revealing that Aernas was next in line to despair.

Act 25.3: Chivalry[]

After hearing Gerard Farenwhite call himself the Ruby Knights leader, Vice showed herself alongside Elscud. The soul knight asked what she intended to have him do, as he did not appear to understand what was going on, but the Court Magician told him to stand aside and do nothing. Then, Vice ordered Frederick to arrest Gerard for impersonating the real leader of the Ruby Knights along with his companions.

Act 25.4: Gesture for Freedom[]

Gerard was still in shock at the appearance of Elscud, who they all thought had disappeared chasing after Kaze'aze. Nevertheless, he asserted that the leader was not someone who would be corrupted as Asin seemed to insinuate.

Act 25.5: Storage[]

When Gerard was informed that the enemies intended to use Serdin and Kanavan's knights to cover all of Bermesiah in war, he felt hurt that the former Ruby Knights leader would back such a conspiracy.

Act 25.9: Under the Queen's Name[]

Elscud received an apology from Queen Anyumena, who said that it was her fault that he became involved with Kaze'aze in the first place. He asked if she was the one he had previously served, but Anyu felt as if she was undeserving of his loyalty anymore.

With the Grand Chase finally catching up to the evil schemes of Kaze'aze, Gerard questioned Elscud about why he was with that demon, but the red knight remained silent and just left.

Act 26.1: Punish the Evil[]

When the Celestial Inquisitors in Hell Bridge were subdued by the power of the List, Decanee ordered Elscud to take care of the rest, but he was hesitant to follow and questioned her actions. The demon warned him not to even think about opposing her and that he could not disobey her command. Then, Elscud asked the angel Europa for forgiveness.

Act 27.8: Invisible Guide[]

While the Grand Chase hid from their pursuers, Elscud made his presence noticeable without showing himself to them and managed to catch Edel's attention who thought such was deliberate. They followed her lead but none were able to figure out who was guiding them.

When Elscud went to Elena later, she asked him where he had been, to which the soul knight replied that she already knew. She mocked him for squandering his last remaining freedom but Elscud argued that, while he could not remember anything, he understood what was right from wrong and had no regrets since he believed his recent actions had a purpose. Elena then ordered her Elite Anmon Mages to take him away for it.

Act 30.1: Pillar Supporting the Soul[]

Decanee punished Elscud in the Soul Prison by imprisoning him in a chained crystal that continuously brought him pain, calling him a poor soul for coming her way. However, he responded that the real poor soul was her because of her incapacity to allow her soul to settle in. When a kaleidoscope of butterflies started fluttering around the demon, Elscud reminded her that she also had a pillar of heart that supported her soul, alluding to Vice. The demon refused to acknowledge such a thing and that it was his role to be the "pillar" instead.

Act 30.8: Chains of Karma[]

Marcus who was explaining the concept of karma used the Millennium Knight guarding the Gateway Base as an example but he refrained from going further into detail out of respect for Elesis who did not seem to mind where the conversation had headed.

Act 31.1: No Soul No Mind[]

As Decanee recounted her grandiose plan to abolish destiny and all of its potential outcomes, Elscud told her that she had no right to take away the future from anyone. He questioned what she meant when she mentioned that beings from Elyos, the Underworld, Celestial, and Spirit World, had changed undesirably. The demon answered that it was due to the "Creator's flaw" that existed since the beginning of time, which, had the red knight not intervened, could have ended the world a thousand years ago.

While Elscud writhed in agony from incarceration, Decanee continued to express her contempt for his past actions. He remarked that the demon chose to place the blame elsewhere when she could have had a chance to change her fate. She told him to worry about his own first and was left contemplating.

Act 31.9: Secret Benefactor[]

It came as no surprise to Marcus to discover that the Millennium Knight himself turned out to be the center of all the dense karma that was permeating the entire Pandemonium. To their horror, Elscud was broken out of the crystal and then Decanee absorbed his karma. He warned his daughter to prepare for imminent danger.

Halfway through the battle, Elscud told the demon that there would be no second chances. He got up and declared that his mission was to pursue Kaze'aze and stop her plan as Ruby Knight Elscud, teaming up with the Grand Chase to defeat Decanee once and for all. With the chase for Kaze'aze coming to an end, she revealed that she was not the true Kaze'aze that they knew of but the red knight simply dismissed this. Elscud told her that someone had always seen her as Karina Erudon, but she had been pushed away because the demon insisted on denying it.

The karma was returned to the Millennium Knight after Decanee passed away. Elesis was upset by this, but he informed his daughter that it was a burden he must carry. With the aid of Hwarin and Tiamat, they utilized the power of his karma to send the lost souls back to their own respective worlds.

As they made their way back to Hell Bridge safely, Elscud told his daughter that she had wonderful companions, who had expressed their gratitude to their captain prior. Elesis wholeheartedly agreed, saying that if it had not been for her friends, she would never have been able to stand in front of her father at that moment. Rufus had to break up their short reunion since Elscud had already died and must return with the Haros. As the Queen of the Underworld, Hwarin vowed to see that the Millennium Knight's retrial proceeded fairly. Before they parted ways, Sieghart went on to claim that Elesis had something to say to her father, teasing her how it was the last chance to do so. To Arme's disappointment, she ended up just congratulating her father for completing his mission, but it was more than enough to make Elscud smile.

Attacks[]

Elscud can be fought as a boss in Act 13.9: The 3, Reunited Again. He reappears with Changhae in Act 20.9: Enlisting in the Army.
