Options

Grand Chase makes use of the keyboard/joystick for all in-game combat while the mouse is used for selection in the lobby and in dungeon and PvP rooms.

Controls[]

The keyboard controls can be customized to the player's liking by viewing the Options. Options can be accessed through the World Map, PvP lobby, and rooms by clicking the gear in the top-right corner of the in-game screen.

X Switch between special attack sets and/or switch PvP Item(s)

S or L Shift Activate pet attack when available

Arrow U Jump or perform aerial combo
Arrow D Drop through platforms
SpaceBar Switch between Type 1 and Type 2 skills
(Only available with certain characters and job classes)
Arrow L Move left or perform additional combos
Arrow R Move right or perform additional combos
Arrow LArrow L or Arrow RArrow R Dash
Arrow LArrow L and hold or Arrow RArrow R and hold Run
(Available for only some characters and job classes)

AP Controls[]

Dio, Zero, Ley and other AP characters in that instead of holding Z to charge and activate an MP skill, Ap characters make use of the A, S, D F, and G keys to activate skills and specials. Due to this, some commands have been moved to different keys.

When using a character that is not Dio, players are still capable of activating pet attacks and taunts with L Shift and V respectively.

Other Controls[]

When in-play in either a dungeon, PvP, Practice Mode, or Park, players cannot change certain options through the Options menu, such as game quality and toggling of the BGM (Background Music) and sound effects. Certain keys allow players to automatically change these, however.

Also while in-game, players can take an in-game screenshot.

Q, W, E, R, T Uses Items equipped to said spot (Note: This only works in dungeons.)
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Uses Emotes equipped to said spot.
F1 Lowers game quality by one setting
F2 Raises game quality by one setting
F4 or Print Screen Takes an in-game screenshot
(Note: The image taken will be sent to "C:\SG Interactive\Grand Chase\Screenshot".)
F6 Toggle FPS (Frames Per Second) meter
F7 Toggle Background Music
F8 Toggle Sound Effects Music
F9 "Ready" shortcut
F10 Toggles Chatting
Ctrl + 1 Recording

(Note: This only works in PvP. A red "Recording" on the bottom right corner of the screen if successful. Recording can last up to hours, and will be saved provided if the user does not quit the game.)

Classic Classical appearances
Lowest Quality Lowest Quality; all characters are given classical appearances, entire background is dimmed black, stage appears more pixilated.
Low Quality Low Quality; Stage area is more stable. HP bar of monsters is not displayed.
Average Quality Average Quality; Background appears normally.
HP bar of monsters is not displayed.
Above Average Quality Average Quality; Background appears normally;
from this quality onwards HP bar of monsters is displayed.
High Quality High Quality; Possible stage effects appear.
Very High Quality Very High Quality; Characters are modernized.
Highest Quality Highest Quality; Characters are given an outline appearance.
Auto Adjust Automatically adjusts the quality to a suitable rate for the CPU.
Resolution Changes the resolution. Possible following changes:


  • 800 x 600 (4:3)
  • 1024 x 768 (4:3)
  • 1280 x 800 (8:5)
  • 1280 x 1024 (5:4)
  • 1440 x 900 (8:5)
  • 1600 x 900 (16:9)
  • 1680 x 1050 (8:5)
MSAA (MultiSampling Antialiasing) Alternates the MSAA. Possible following changes:


  • None Antialiasing
  • MultiSampling 2x
  • MultiSampling 4x

Skill Effect When a skill comes into play, the character image may or may not appear depending on the option.
Auto Invite Block When a player tries to invite another person to a dungeon/PvP room, the name may or may not appear depending on the option.
