Kassias Grandiel had certainly changed. After the fall of Kounat, Grandiel believed he was responsible for what happened to Baldinar, and for over a thousand long years, he lived solely to bear that responsibility. Compared to that, the last decade or so had passed in an instant, yet during that time, raising Kyle and Cindy had changed him. That is why Kyle and Cindy do not know the Grandiel who once walked the path of ascetic hardship. Nor do they know the Grandiel from even earlier, the archetypal researcher whose magical research achievements and communication skills were in perfect inverse proportion.

Having cared for the recovering Kyle and Cindy, Grandiel returned to a peaceful daily life. His reopening of the grimoire was not prompted by any shift in mindset. It was simply a lighthearted intention to casually analyze it from time to time as a pastime, not a serious return to research. However, the presence beyond did not miss this moment.

When one gazes into the abyss, the abyss gazes back. A secretive aura rising from the copy of the Klara Libri gradually began to corrupt Grandiel's mind.

A component of the mechanism that manipulates the stage known as this world. Though it is only a part of the whole, even its slightest adjustment holds the power to alter reality. Once it fell into Grandiel's hands, its illusions indistinguishable from reality and its reality manipulation amplified each other, producing an extremely dangerous force. Even so, within an unchanging reality, Kassias wondered: he wanted to break free from this endless cycle.
